Tinted, Frosted & Painted Glass
Tinted glass is usually a toughened panel with a grey, bronze or blue tint embedded within the glass itself allowing for a see-through panel with light diffracting through in the colour of the chosen tint.
When using tinted glass in laminated panels, you must consider the finished colour. As laminated panels are typically 2 toughened panels sandwiched together, pairing one clear and one tinted panel will give an overall light colour, pairing 2 tinted panels will create a darker colour and a totally different look.
Painted glass should be low-iron for the best clarity and colour finish, especially if you are expecting a specific colour. Low-iron glass has fewer iron-oxides within the panel when compared to regular float glass, this allows for clear edges without the green tint associated with regular float glass.
